The third dahlia I’m featuring for my 2026 sales is Tsuki-no-Suzu. This is a Japanese cultivar which has a secret reason for its ‘flooffy’ appearance. Every petal has a petalloid! To get the best from this cultivar, cut hard into the plant when removing the first blooms. This will make the later blooms pop up over top of the leaf canopy. Blooms are a beautiful raspberry colour and 10-12cm in diameter. The plants are around 120cm high and produce nice tubers. Along with my two seedlings, this is the initial introduction of Tsuki-no-suzu to the Canadian market.
