Introducing Lone Star, a chrysanthemum which should have pure white blooms but for me they were pink. Many white mum blooms can experience 'pinking' when the temperatures drop and this is what I think has happened here. It could also be a 'sport' of Lone Star, a genetic modification which has resulted in pink rather than white blooms. Whatever colour this plant ends up being for you, Lone Star is a sight to behold. Standing at 1.4m tall and covered in 10 - 15cm unique blooms which have quilled tubular petals on the bottom and incurving petals in the centre, classifying it as 13A (unusual with large flowers). This cultivar makes a huge rhizomal mass under the ground making me think it would be a good candidate for testing winter hardiness.
